Musical Instrument Lessons
We have a number of peripatetic teachers who visit our school to offer music tuition. We have a great relationship with our music tutors and children who have instrument lessons are always invited to show the school community what they have learnt either by playing in our Family Collective Worship or at other performance times across the year e.g. The Christ Church Arts Festival.
We currently offer guitar, violin, piano and woodwind lessons.
Guitar
Our Guitar teacher is Steve Mac (stevemacguitar@icloud.com). Steve delivers group guitar lessons on a Monday for pupils in Year 3 to Year 6. He organises these groups by age.
The lessons are offered during the school day and throughout the school term. Lessons are offered in 30mins sessions. The cost per term can vary depending on the length of each term. An average cost per term is £65.
Steve will send out fliers to Year 2 pupils in July to remind parents and carers that lessons are available. There is always a waiting list, so you are advised to sign up early through the online form below.
All children who learn the guitar are expected to buy their own instrument, but Steve will try to provide one for any pupil who wishes to have a taster session before buying a guitar. If your child is registered with the school as Pupil Premium or Free School Meals and you need assistance with the cost of an instrument, please speak to someone in the school office team.
Steve also offers private lessons outside of school during term time and additional booster lessons during holidays (online or in person). For more information, please visit Steve's web site: www.stevemacguitar.com
